EVANGELISM & MISSIONS

The mission of every follower of Christ is to go and make disciples of all nations

The call, the duty, and holy privilege of every follower of Christ and of all churches of Jesus Christ is to go and make disciples of the nations. God creates transformed lives through the Holy Spirit evidenced by purity, holiness, and growth in Christ-like character by means of new birth.  He also imputes the love of Christ into the hearts of believers, thus transforming their love toward others, for His Name’s sake. This results in children of God who actively seek to take the Gospel to sinners and who share in carrying out the Great Commission. The highest purpose for evangelism and missions is that the name of Jesus Christ and the glory of His kingdom be taken to the ends of the earth until He returns.  It is the duty of every child of God to seek constantly to win the lost to Christ by verbal witness undergirded by a Christian lifestyle, and by other methods in harmony with the gospel of Christ. We use every means possible to share the gospel with as many people as we can, because we believe God’s word teaches that we should do so..  Scripture teaches us to strive to tell the world about Christ. We involve ourselves in personal missions in our community, state, and the world but, since we can’t all travel the world telling others about Jesus, we support that effort with our prayers, and our finances through our regular giving, and through special mission offerings. It is the responsibility of churches to aid in the training and growth of all Christians into fully devoted followers of Christ. We strive to accomplish this through one on one mentoring, connection groups, discipleship groups as well as through congregational preaching and teaching in the Worship Gathering.
