Serving Our Community

At Eastgate Baptist, we believe that following Jesus means being sent to serve. As disciples of Christ, we are called to live out our faith by loving our neighbors and meeting needs in our community.

Through Go Serve Ministries, we seek to demonstrate the love of Christ in both word and action. While we care for practical needs, our greatest desire is to point people to Jesus—the Bread of Life and Living Water—who alone satisfies our deepest spiritual needs and offers eternal life.

God has uniquely gifted every believer to serve. When we use those gifts to bless others, we become living examples of His grace to the world around us.

Scripture reminds us:

“Just as each one has received a gift, use it to serve others, as good stewards of the varied grace of God.”
(1 Peter 4:10)

As we grow in Christ, we are not only called to believe, belong, and become—we are also called to be sent, sharing the love of Jesus and making a difference in our community and beyond.

Eastgate is grateful to partner with Carriage Town Ministries, which serves homeless men, women, and children throughout mid-Michigan.

Each month, our church sends a volunteer team on the third Monday to serve the community by:

  • Helping prepare and serve the evening meal

  • Sharing in a time of worship

  • Encouraging guests through a message from God’s Word

This ministry provides an opportunity for our church family to care for those in need while sharing the hope found in Jesus Christ.

We also seek to support families in our community who are facing food insecurity.

Eastgate provides food boxes to individuals and families who need assistance with everyday essentials. If you or someone you know could benefit from this ministry, please contact our church office:
