Baptism and communion are ongoing activities commanded by Christ for His followers
Christian baptism is the immersion of a believer in water in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. It is an act of outward obedience symbolizing the believer's faith in the crucified, buried, and risen Savior; death to sin; burial of the old life; and resurrection to walk in newness of life in Christ Jesus. It is a testimony to the believer’s faith in the an ultimate, final, bodily resurrection to eternal life with Christ in His Kingdom. Being a church ordinance, it is prerequisite to the privileges of church membership.
Communion (the Lord's Supper) is a symbolic act of worship and obedience whereby believers, through partaking of the bread and the fruit of the vine, memorialize the death of the Redeemer and anticipate His second coming. Baptism and the Lord’s Supper are significant expressions of salvation, worship, and submission to God for the believer.
